I don't pay attention to this website. I looked down and saw my last post regarding the first week of lay offs at work. Well, two weeks ago we had our "Phase Two" Lay Offs, and I was one of the 20 that was let go.
It wouldn't be so bad, except for the fact that I have been unable to find a job. Oh, I get a check from the Texas Workforce Commission in the amount of $392 per week. That is a mere 784 every two weeks.... I was bringing home little over 1400 every two weeks after taxes. I am very grateful that I don't have a wife and kids to worry about. Oh it could be soooo much worse.
Luckily I've got a really good tax return this year and a severance package that should keep me OK for a little while. Still sucks though.
